# Understanding the Web Interface

This page explains the concepts and design decisions behind the LinkAhead web interface (WebUI).

## The File System view

The **File System** view lets you browse files that LinkAhead tracks. These files are typically
mounted from an external file server; LinkAhead stores metadata about them but does not store the
file contents itself.
